Ray and I really clicked on this idea. Ray proposed it the other day while doing the podcast and it was as if he had read my mind because I had the same exact idea myself. I really had a hard time taking the Iwata Asks interview seriously because everything I’ve seen of Sakurai has been on the Smash Bros. Dojo where he says the most ridiculous things. And in case you’re wondering, yes, all of Sakurai’s lines in the comic are real things he said in the Smash Bros. Dojo posts.

The dojo posts were always so random I had always assumed that he didn’t speak english and the translator had learned from a textbook from the 1920’s.
@Andrew: You realise that the guy who writes the English blog posts is the same guy who did much of the writing for the English version of Super Paper Mario, right? I doubt it’s a direct translation, and he’s probably just putting the stuff in his own style.
Still, good comic, even though it took me a while to realise all the lines were from Dojo posts.
Iwata: Now let’s hope that nobody gets their hands on the game early.
???: Nya ha ha!
Iwata: He’s getting away with the game!
Sakurai: This guy needs to calm down.
Iwata: He’s coming your way, Sakurai-kun. Stop him!
Sakurai: Given the proliferation of the Internet these days, the existence of hidden characters is going to get exposed anyway.

Even when the Smash Bros. Dojo update is REALLY bad, Sakurai’s hilarious comments make it worthwhile reading. Loving this comic.

Nice comic today guys. I like it! Only after the “Hot Hot HOTT” line did it click that he was saying things from the dojo. Did he really say the ‘nice and peaceful’ line somewhere?

Yeah, Another Andrew, we know. We go a little overboard with those Smash comics, but you don’t understand just how obsessed Ray is with that game!
I think you should start the “comic talk” section of the podcast with a little kid quoting the first comment on comic #1 “Wow, This Comic Strip looks like it has some potential.”

Why don’t ya’ll put those “atom” lines around the 2p start logo like it is on the smash ball? or put lines through the logo to look like the smash logo(they’re both basically a circle). Or just do both

To confirm what I meant is that you guys love to talk about brawl. I mean you said confirmed or some variation of it at least 50 times in your last podcast. I thought you would get it ,but I was wrong.
Haha, it’s cool Rioluke, Ray straightened that out. It’s just that the way you wrote it made it seem like you were saying something about MLK. If you had said, “Knowing you guys, it’s probably the former”, that would have made more sense.
I think Ray understood what you were saying because he is the Brawl freak around here, I’m just a casual fan.
Thats funny because I wanted to say “the former” but I could only remember latter. And I didn’t want to say “the first one” so I just wrote “the latter” thinking you guys would get it. By the way I love your avatar. Its from that one comic back when you used to be good…

What’s wrong? Ray doesn’t want to make something new up, so you use a previous header image? I recognize that from the Brawl comic a while back.
And before you say it, no, I didn’t offer any suggestions because I haven’t checked back here all weekend. I would have suggested something that matches the white theme of the Ask Iowata, like changing the button to a white and blue theme thing. I actually like Dj75728’s idea about making the 2pstart logo into a modified version of the Smash Bros symbol (like putting those crossed lines in and the 2p up on the bigger side of the circle). Anyhow, now I’m ranting. 🙂

I made it almost the whole way through the comic before I understood what was going on. Nice job!
I get it now after reading it three times, but I liked how he was kinda gimmicky in the words that he chose. Although he sort of seemed like he was trying to cover something up by distracting you with wierdness.
