Ray Reviews Mega Man 9
October 19th, 2008
Ray has finally posted his review of the retro-looking Mega Man 9! This was a tough one for him to write as he didn’t agree with all the choices Capcom made, but you’ll have to read the review if you want to find out more!
FIRST ^o^
I haven’t played the megaman series at all, really (dabbling here in there in the battle network, but never buying the game). However, I would have expected that with the return to the original graphics, they should have at least made the game longer, more detailed, or have whole area that are secret, or possibly have an alternate route to the ending, or something to fill in the gap made by simple graphics!
Obviously, Capcom used this as a chance to make money without doing anything. It was a cop-out.
I guess it doesn’t live up to the hype then huh? I still would have added some more stuff. I still have a question, Does MegaMan still shoot only three shots on the screen? I hated that about the originals
Yes, you can only have three shots on the screen.
I downloaded this game and I have really enjoyed it. I think I agree with Ray on most everything.
Well, the original Megaman’s weren’t as hard as 9 and truthfully, I tried the demo and was unimpressed. But if any company could make that magic game which made everyone happy…. maybe, just maybe, they could finally outsell The Sims.
Pretty quick review, if I do say so myself. I personally loved Mega Man 9, but of course I never owned any of the other games (rented them once). I’m definitely considering checking out Mega Man 2.
If anything, I miss the charge shot the most. As a fan of the X series more, I’m used to running, dashing, and wall climbing all while holding on to a charge, so MM9 is a larger step back for me in that sense. But as pure MM, it’s good. My biggest complaint is actually the lack of a shop in Proto Man mode. I mean, jeez, wasn’t it hard enough already?
