2P START! Live!: Steady Eddie Edition

In this episode, Tim and Ray have Ray’s brother Eddie back on to talk about the Wii as a casual gamer’s console. Plus a trio of Black Doom Awards, Musical Misfits and more!

Okay, here are my comments, and remember, I don’t have smooth transitions:
1. Anything that stars with ‘star’ and doesn’t end in ‘dust’, I don’t particularly care for.
2.Only thing Abrams has done that I’ve seen is Fringe.
3. I’d prefer comics a new games more than comics on retro games, but that’s just because I don’t care much for older games…
4. I cannot even fathom how you are still playing SSBB. I’ve been done for a while now.
5. Nintendo’s line-up of games is no where near quiet when City Folk is on the list. One thing I’m not sure I mentioned, when an Animal Crossing Wii was announced before the Wii came out…that’s when I decided that I needed a Wii. That’s right, I got a Wii just so I could play Animal Crossing. Granted, I would’ve probably gotten anyway, but yeah…
6. I like having all the old Wii stuff. I still have the Remotes with the thin wrist straps. You know, the ones they recalled two seconds after launch?
7. I was just thinking that the Conduit may have been able to replace GoldenEye.
8. The Conduit (correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think I am) will support 16 players online, Wii Speak, and Wii Motion +.
9. Yeah, for Christmas, City Folk and Music are the big titles.
10. And with what I said about me getting a Wii for AC, this holiday is one of the spiffiest ever.
11. I heard Banjo Kazooie was pretty bad, the new one that is.
12. The Metroid Prime games don’t have too much platforming, a decent amount, but not a lot…
13. Oh, when you mentioned losing at Samba de Amigo even though you were correct, I thought of the Quiz Show Mic game from Mario Party 6.

14. Nintendo’s site has ALWAYS warned you of the rating.
15. The Mother song was okay, but wasn’t parts of it in Brawl?

I completely agree with ya on amigo because I’m one of those perfectionists when it comes to rhythm based games.
The music in the Mother games are some of my favorite!

It was nice hearing Eddie back again too. The podcast is always a very good way to start the week off.
The middle section to the end is from Misplaced Revenge/Unfounded Revenge, which is part of a Brawl song. I guess that makes it less of a Musical Misfit, but hey, Mother/Earthbound gets little love over here and it deserves all the exposure it can get!

Man, there is some fighting going on between podcasts. But Eddie makes a valid point. Star Wars > Star Trek

And the Mario Steroids comic was one small thing. The Beatles had “Revolution 9” so even the best people get a mulligan.
I think this week’s comic hit a good medium. Most people get Pac-Man (people that would stumble upon the site) but it also had the gem of 14 pixels high. Something for both groups. Granted, that probably isn’t the easiest thing to come up with.
Hey! The Gamecube had Mario DDR and Mario Party. Alright, maybe Wii SPorts has beat those two out. But Wii Sports Resort is where it will be at. Ok, maybe not, but I’m all for sword-fighting.
Red Steel wanted to be the new Golden Eye. Also, Conduit is Q1 2009 and does have multiplayer. And Sega is just the brand name, but High Voltage is in control of what goes on and they’re competent.
Well there’s Mad World I think. That may be later though. But the DS is getting Crono Trigger at Thanksgiving, so hoorah for that.
Apparently, Banjo-Kazooie wasn’t quite the same as the older ones. Different style apparently.
Well, Metroid Prime could throw in a morph-ball pinball mini game. Win 5 times in a row to get the Phazon Beam.
Did F-Zero GX have an arcade game? I remember there was something about it and you could bring your memory card, but I never saw it.
It could be really humid. Dark clouds and high humidity can make it really warm.
Black Awesome Award? Isn’t that the happy sunshine award or something. But I did see that story and thought basically the same thing. Kudos to the guy though.
And Nintendo didn’t cover themselves on Brawl. You can put anything you want in the taunts. Anything!! Granted, only friends will see it but still.
Aww, no Tecmo Bowl. But still a good choice so I can’t complain too much.
Okay, here’s my suggestion for musical misfits, Salamaders (Life Force) ending theme… such a great end to a great game.

I have one thing to say about the podcast this week. I am a female, and I do listen to the podcast, read the comics, reviews, and participate in the forums.
So you do have at least one female in your audience.
Or are you like Poison from Final Fight? I’ve been tricked in the past, you know….
As a huge Mother fan (don’t hate) I’m proud that that song won, so I will post more songs for your ear-holes.

I hate that guy even more than ever… Nintendo is just jealoous that they have lost the past two Console wars and is now using a different tactic, quantity over quality… the exact opposite of what they did in the past…

Nintendo can’t be the new Sega… Who will I go to for old and beloved franchises? Nintendo was the one that brought us out of the video game crash with quality and caring about the customers. What the hell happened?

Oh, and MAW-SAW-HERO SAW-KU-RIGH… just so you know the name of of the master behind Smash Bros. It’s OK, I had to learn at some point too. 😉
I’m just saying that they are losing their touch a little, They have become soft… Making a gaming console that everyone can use has its merits, they just need to remember about their fans that got them to be a big company in the first place, I don’t want a Wii Music 2. But then again what can I say, I’m just a colorblind janitor. 😉
