I think I tend to laugh more at the Tim & Ray comics because there’s just enough truth to them to really crack me up. The truth I’m referring to is obviously the fact that Tingle is a Leprechaun, just like the bad guys in RE5 are zombies. Anyhow, this comic was entirely Ray’s doing, as I was away all weekend, and am WAY TOO BUSY in general these days. While the comic depicts me lounging by the pool o’ money, the real Tim is taking 2 classes at night that are kicking his butt. So a big thanks to Ray for not letting the streak end at 109 straight comics!

I love the Scroogey-ness of Tim’s webcomic counterpart, or indeed Tim in real life, I’m not completely well informed on Tim’s work habits and treatment of workers in real life.

Happy Birthday Ray!!! Maybe Tim’ll let you have a swim in his money pool… Not the one with notes, the one with pennies, you know, the kiddy pool filled with six dollars of pennies. Then he’ll make clean out his money pool in return. This comic made me chuckle, has a nice depth to it, especially loving the party hats. The sky in the first frame looks really good too. Hope you had fun locked up in that cell Tim allows you to inhabit while drawing for the day. Nice one.

You know what is the creepiest thing of all? He isn’t a elf, fairy or leprechaun. He is just a roughly 30 year old guy that walks around in skin tight green spandex and yells “Kooloo-Limpah!” at passing strangers.

Ray, you hit Tingle SPOT ON!! I am awed by your drawing skills. Though… I’m creeped out as to why you invited Tingle to your party… I mean, you could have at least invited Sonic, then you could have at least asked him to throw a few homing attacks at Tim as his present to you. 😀
(Also, for the record, we’ve seen Myamuto and Sonic (and other brawl characters) interact in the same reality, so Tingle may not be a hallucination, he may actually be invited… Have one more beer, Ray.)

The swimming pool of money (hereafter referred to only as the SPoM) always seems to crop up when Ray writes the comic by himself.
Almost as if he’s bitter about it… or it’s some secret code to get us to help him break out of his illustrator slavery. With every NCG that’s posted he just cries to himself and wonders if anyone out here will get it.
Well sorry Ray, but we’re all a little too happy to sit here and fire NCGs at the results of your indentured servitude.

In any case, the way I read the comic (because I think it is more amusing) is that Ray, who has lost all his friends due to his continued servitude to the unreasonable demand of Tim, is throwing a “Happy Birthday to Me” party with his imaginary leprechaun drinking buddies and tingle just wandered in, as tingle tends to do.

True, but consider this:
Tim and Ray (in real life) have a set of personalities, likes and dislikes, habits, looks, etc. While not 100% true to the original, Comic Ray and Tim (aka RayMii and TiMii, respectively) are representations of the originals, meaning they contain a subset of the personalities, etc. of real Tim and Ray, while adding their own.
Tingle, while not 100% true to HIS original (aka RayMii), contains a wide subset of his original’s traits (see above comment).
We can make the follwing conclusion:
Tingle originates from RayMii.
RayMii originates from Ray.
Use the transitive property, and BAM! Tingle = Ray.
While your initial argument about TiMii and RayMii is accurate, they are a clear representation of the original, the arguement that Tingle is Ray is flawed.
1) Tingle was at the party. This does not prove that that they are the same person. The existance of two objects in the same physical location do not imply they are the same. For example
I am in Canada, Paul is in Canada -> I am Paul. This is a clearly false conclusion.
2) Preety much the same argument. A shared activity does not imply sameness. E.g. I play baseball, Sam plays baseball -> I am Sam
3) The fact that he wears ridiculous clothes does not even connect him to Ray. While the hat may be a loose connection, it is more likely a similarity based on the situation as opposed to intrinsic meaning.
I realize that these arguments are being used to induce that they are the same, but let me give another example.
I am playing baseball in Canada, while wearing a baseball jersey.
Paul is playing baseball in Canada, while wearing a baseball jersey.
Therefore, I am Paul?
This highlights that the sharing of traits does not directly imply that they are the same.
Completely valid arguments. However, there is one assumption that you make in your arguments that I do not, and that is that your arguments infer you are talking about a single universe of properties, while mine do not. My arguments speak of 2 specific universes, while implying a potential 3rd.
your arguments deal only with the real world:
You are completely true, given a single. However, apply a 2nd universe: the Comic Universe, for example
zijjhMii is in Canada, zijjh is Canada. –> While we can’t directly say zijjhMii is zijjh, we can say zijjhMii is a representation of zijjh, but this deals with the intrinsic properties of said Comic Universe, which I’d really rather not get into.
This 3rd universe that may be implied comes from Tingle’s comment in Panel #3: “You should drink another beer, shouldn’t you?” Another beer implies at least one prior beer, thus allowing for the possibility of RayMii’s hallucination “universe” to have emerged, or even possibly fused with the Comic Universe.
Given that multiple universes alter the rules with which we can make logical conclusions, I think it’s safe to say that Tingle is, at the very least, a representation of Ray.
This brings up another interesting situation. The reason Ray’s speech bubble in this comic is green is clearly because he’s wearing a shirt of the same color. The same applies to Tingle, as well as most characters that have appeared in the comics. If this logic still applies, then why are Tim’s speech bubbles still blue, as he no longer wears his white and blue jacket? More importantly, what ever happened to that jacket in the first place?! Then again, I’ve always assumed that Tim and Ray were following Brawl’s (as well as other games) color setup for players (Player 1 is red, Player 2 is blue, etc.), so they could still be following that trend. And then again, maybe I’m (as well as some of the other members) just overanalyzing the speech bubbles.
I hope you’re not taking this as an argument, I’m just really having fun with applying logic to everyday things 😀

Ray’s Mii is not named RayMii, it is a plain and boring name.
It is called Do’hRayMii, because it has a pun in it. Just like TimMii is a pun on ‘Timmy’, Do’hRayMii is a pun on the first three notes on the G scale, since Ray is a musician.
That leads me to ask, Since the comic is called 2p Start!, who is the first player. You’d say Ray is because of the Sonic shoes, but on the logo, Tim’s stick figure comes first, making that the first player.

RayMii says that he will get a leperachaun friend of his at which point Tingle shows up. Tingle is RayMii intrepretation of a leperachaun and not one of himself.
In additional it is reasonable to assume that Tingle is simply a hallucination brought about by being drunk.
There is significant doubt as to the plausibility that Tingle is Ray. While I would say that it is clearly a possibility, it is much less likely then some of the other possibilites (hallucination, actually there, ect.)
*By the way, yes, I know this is just in fun, but I enjoy developing obscure, yet valid counterarguments.

Uh, no, I wasn’t implying that he was fictional. I was saying he’s real, Sonic is fictional, as is Tingle, and therefore in the 2PSTART! comic we are in this world where real people and fictional characters can exist in the same reality.
I mean, Myamuto conducted a try-outs session, and Q*Bert showed up, along with several other gaming-world things. So either Myamuto created a gaming world self that he projected into the gaming world to do this, or both gaming-world and real-world characters are in the SAME world, and with this comic, this just proves the second point is the true one.
This is also my argument for the whole Tingle and Ray argument that I missed above. They’re not “the same”, Tingle was just at the party, invited or not (and probably invited, given that Ray seemed to regret inviting him with the beer comment).
Would that name even fit in the space provided for a Mii name?
