As a father of two impossibly bouncy children myself, I can assure you both, it’s gonna be a heck of a ride.
And Tim, as my first happened to be a girl as well, take my advice: practice saying “No” in the mirror. All girls are born with pre-existing knowledge of just the right way to tug on their father’s heartstring. And they want everything and a bowl of ice cream. 🙂

Well, congrats to Tim. And don’t worry, Ray. I’m sure that 2P Start! won’t die. If anything, I think this could lead to more comics. So when is her first comic going to be?

And Is that guy in the background Dr. Mario? I don’t know… Maybe he’s the Gamestop guy again? Wouldn’t surprise me, he’s done everything else.
I’m trying to think of a good first game… Maybe “Let’s Tap”? It uses no controller and something that all people do already, so she would understand quickly. Maybe you’ll go the more traditional route and wait until she’s old enough to play Super Mario Bros.? Maybe go the learning route with Jumpstart Pre K? Or perhaps let her try her luck at Brain Age which could be okay except for saying that she has a brain age of 90? There are so many options… Maybe the best choice is to just play fairly simple games with her in your lap until she wants to try too.
Yaaaaaaay, filler! But considering we were duely warned, I guess I can’t hold it against you…as much.

Oddly enough, I think that this is my favourite comic. Not because it was an exceptional comic (although Dr. Mario was a very nice touch) but because Tim now has a baby, which is ridiculously amazing. (Babies always leave me with a ‘Wow! He made that!’ feeling.)
Or it could be that I just watched a bunch of Mr. Bean videos on YouTube and I’m still laughing at those. Either or.
In any case, congratulations, Tim. I recommend the name Peach, although she’ll probably get kidnapped a lot if you do that…better make sure that you’ve got a Super Mushroom on hand. It’ll make it much easier to jump on kidnappers.

I think this comic was especially noteworthy only because the first thing I see is a giant picture of Tim (the usually emotionally unavailable one) filled with tears of joy…I think this comic broke some kind of rift or fabric between 2P Start! and reality.

as for the comic, wich is some kind of filler ish thingy (at least I think) proving you don’t intend to stop them coming by keeping your weekly update, here are some more or less random comments…
Tim looks happier then when you had a chance to save the princess TOGETHER!!! and shows no signs of wounds from the ”earlier” fight (even the calender foreseeing the death of 2P Start seems like it was less then a week before) Ray look depressed, as a betrayed, but understanding friend, who looks like he’s watching Transformer2 on Iphone.
also, I just seem to notice that everything Tim related are blue, the speech bubbles, the baby pacifier, his phone, and Ray’s are red, the red shirt, and bubbles, whatever is wrote on the botom of the I phone (ok that one is a little pushed)
Isn’t Ray supposed to be the Sonic freak, and Tim the Mario of the pair? or is it that Tim reminds Ray of Sonic, that would be why he spend time with him, but for Ray…. what does he win in that deal? cash and Dr.Pepper?

notice my filler ”ish thingy” I see it as a comic they spent time on, therefore being a real comic (a filler would had more been a simple image, more or less random) the filler feeling probably come from it being based on an actual event that happened, there’s not much of a joke in it
so, it’s for follower for sure (the Dr.Mario cameo in the first panel, probably some that I missed too) newcomers might not know what is the point at all, absence of joke (well, maybe except the fact that Ray seems more interested in the comic then the life of his friend) and the fact that they don’t know it’s something taht had beenm discussed about before

I found this web comic a few weeks ago and have enjoyed almost every single one. I have also listened to a few episodes of the podcast (they are too long to hear in a single inning). So because of the occasion I am RISING FROM MY GRAVE ( even though I just created my account a few minutes ago. I also think that Tim is lucky to live by a hospital with Dr. Mario in it. Anyway because the baby is a girl you will have to expose her to video games extra early for her to enjoy them as much as you do I suggest the age of 16 months or maybe a little earlier. Anyway happy birthday to (insert baby’s name here.)
