4. I think that Scribblenauts is going to be a gold mine for comics, but I imagine you’re going to have to be careful if you decided to use Scribblenauts because I’m sure everyone and their mother will be making comics about the ridiculous things they did in the game.

6. Yeah, I’ve decided that I have to call in eventually even if my question is super pointless, just for the humor factor. Because both those call ins were very funny.
7. To be honest, it’s going to be very hard for me not to call in, say, “I only have one thing to say…Rouge” and then hang up. XD
8. Well if it makes you guys feel special, every Monday I take the time to sit down and listen to the podcast. I don’t put it in the background while I’m doing something else…unless you count taking notes about the podcast as something else.
9. Okay, so I took a note to just mention that the podcast this week was very funny, and I just jotted down “Funny Podcast” but about two seconds later I crossed it out and wrote “Hilarious Podcast”. š

13. Scribblenauts ESRB description…wow. That’s what they decided to mention…are we sure these people are qualified if one of the things they decided to try was to attract LIONS TO BABIES!?
14. Actually it is possible I think to have nothing wrong in terms of ESRB. Magical Melody has nothing but the ESRB site listed in the rating box with the E (though it should say Alcohol Reference, but the ESRB let that slide because they called it Soda…I don’t have much faith in the ESRB anymore).

Nice podcast guys. I do like the idea of parodying other webcomics. Sounds like a cool idea and something unique like the Pixelvision comics.
But about the new Skype calls, is there anyway to record them? I’m no expert on Skype but if you can record them and equalize them they’d sound a lot better.
I’m surprised that you guys started up the call-ins so soon. Cool! Let’s just hope that we don’t get to a point where 10+ people call in during each recording though. I still need to get myself a mic…

Great Podcast (so far*) I really like the idea of calling in and hearing from the fans.
*The MP3 is broken again… It cuts out at 16:33, right when the “Creepy Comments” Segment is about to begin…
You can use something simple, like Pamela. It can record the call for 15 minutes unless you pay. You can find it under the Extras section of Skype, or you can download it off the interwebz

i think the reason this is my favorite webcomic is because you guys involve the fans a lot, i have a lot of respect for that. that said, hey ray you wanna play sonic the hedgehog 06′ on the 360 with me? its like the best sonic game ever(with shadow the hedgehog taking second)

I just set Audacity (A free program) to record my audio, and then sent it to Ray. And I’m actually quite shocked my audio was decent, considering the fact that it’s an old and really cheap mic.

You know what I love about the podcast? You guys always seem to get off track. Those are the funniest parts. NPG, I think this is one of my favorites.
BTW, did I go deft for a second, or did you guys forget to say “just like the one you heard here, only better.”?
I did think the comic was pretty funny. Definitely predictable, but I still had a chuckle. And for recent topics, you had “The Power of Teamwork”, “Big Announcements”, and “Endless Possibilities”. So you’re maybe not right on the “recent-news” ball, but you’re doing fine.
I enjoy BitF, but I don’t follow it like this comic. I read the ones that get nominated for the joystiq poll.

In all fairness, you guys are one of the few web comics that you can comment on. If someone is used to reading comics such as PA or VGCats, commenting wouldn’t seem like the first thing to do. Took me about 20 comics or so before I started commenting.
The Scribblenauts ESRB thing was hysterical. They’re totally bamboozled by the game. Theoretically, they could rate it M and probably have legit reasoning, but at the same time, it could be E and no one would care. And roadj already pointed out that it wasn’t Satan.
And since Tomb Raider brings in money, the franchise ain’t gonna die. Its a sad truth, but its the truth. And Ray has another creepy comment about Lara.
Yay, banter. Unless this is what Tim was trying to say earlier. In that case, justice has been served.
Oh, and don’t worry Ray. I’ll be at your house next week.
I loved the Scribblenauts rating description. XD I saw one comment that said “that sounds more like an ad for the game than an ESRB rating”. That’s got to be both the funniest description as well as the most violent sounding one to get an E10+ rating. I don’t think Tim read the whole thing though, because there was some part about lobbing rockets at a guy and a couple other things that I don’t remember him reading.
You should; they have a funny:not funny ratio about as good as here. I think it’s a toss up for me whether I like 2P Start! or BitF better.

Also, I’d like to mention that BitF is another one of the rare clean webcomics. You aren’t gonna see Kirby eating a rapper and all of a sudden dropping the F-bomb.
And to be fair, BitF hasn’t done a lot of “Kirby eating something” comics in a while. There was one last week (which was a bonus update anyway), but a lot of them don’t even feature Kirby any more.
– I agree the comic was really mediocre, but I kept quiet, because I didn’t want to rain on anyone’s parade. Way to do it for me anyway, Ray!
– Yeah. You should not make the comic about the latest gaming news. Other comics do that, and it makes it a lot harder stay “in the know” enough.
– I was pretty worried about the call-ins too. Some people aren’t very “audiogenic”. (I’m not.) Though I have to thank yeah568 for using a very decent mic.
Cool podcast. Its pretty cool to have us call in. I’ll definitely be doing that for the next podcast. That is, if i can.
The importer’s probably wrong, for now at least, you both sounds like you’re still having a certain degree of fun doing this soooo….. there is still some lenght in the comic, or site at least, in view
Well to me it sounded like he was referring to a specific video. And I doubt you’ll be able to summon Satan. They use a rather generic god, it’s not supposed be any specific god, because they don’t want to use anything super religious. There’s really no getting around Satan. Maybe a devil, but no Satan.
I liked the comic specifically because of the art. It is true that many people have done the “Kirby turns into something funny” comic, but few have done it with such fantastic art. It is often the case with comics that a good idea is made great with good art, and a great idea is made only ok because of bad art. I think that this idea was ok, but the comic was quite enjoyable because of the fantastic art.
A second note about the comic: I think the humor applies much better to people who have spent a significant amount of time around babies and them crying. To me the joke of the comic was not that Kirbaby turned into a milk bottle, it is that Kirby thinks he has finally stopped the crying and then when the baby eats the bottle he starts crying again. Anyone who has tried to get a baby to stop crying can relate, but other people will be left out of the loop. In other words, this is a comic mostly about parenting and a little about video games, not the other way around. That is what I think anyway.
Regarding the discussion in this week’s podcast, I prefer comics like last week’s with Kirby. When they’re about the latest news in the videogame industry, I usually don’t get them at all.

Well, they would most likely use the same word they put into the game. And for the record, I personally thought he was making a generic statement, not referring to any specific video.
Either way, it’s not that big a deal, because Scribblenauts is going to be the best game ever. You just can’t beat steak babies.

Well, I just meant no other game could beat steak babies. Of course, in Scribblenauts you could summon a baseball bat to beat steak babies, but that’s getting a little violent.
I rised from my grave to get a bold kick in the shins by Tim, but it was not the doubt of my awnesty or being called a jerk ( those were more like pillsbury doughboy pokes “hehe” ) IT was the fact that Tim stated the fact that Toof spelled backwards is foot. EVERYWARE I GO with the name Toof people say that, WHY, I try changing it to GREEN_T00F on psn but then people relate it to bluetooth and pronunce it green tuf WILL NO ONE GET MY REFERENCE TO THAT AWSOME ORIGANAL XBOX GAME. Oh and if you must know why i never commented its because i go threw alot of comics daily and i never really cared to comment because not everyone could, but ever since my computer broke ive been using my ps3 for comic so my list decreased by alot but you guys stayed (BUT i did miss like 18 comics though), the other reason is because i never really had anything to say ( mostly because they had to be short because im righting with my ps3) BUT I DID SAY I WAS SORRY

For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t mind seeing a sort of sub-comic consisting of random scribbles. It works pretty well for a lot of webcomics (notable example: AppleGeeks Lite). I mean, as long as you’re clear that these are just you drawing random things that come to mind, and are under no “obligation” to produce hilarity and high art every time (ahem), or to produce to a schedule. They’ll probably be funnier for it, too.
I think it would be funny to parody the other webcomics. Think about it.
