Why I Love Amazon
November 14th, 2009
Not only did I get New Super Mario Bros. Wii for $46.99 instead of $49.99, but I didn’t have to pay tax, got a $10 credit for a future game (Spirit Tracks anyone?), and got free shipping too! Of course I figured the free shipping would mean I’d get the game a week later than everyone, but how about a day AHEAD of release? Heck, I even get an error when trying to register the game on Club Nintendo because it says it’s not out yet!
Amazon: one of human kind’s biggest wins.
Ugh, I can’t believe I forgot to ask how it is… so, how is it?
dont forget, its Tim, hes probably waiting for someone to come over, or hes drinking Dr. Pepper and TRYING (but probably failing) at it because from my knowledge of him, he hasnt beaten a game yet
Someone at Amazon must be a 2PSTART! fan!
My mailbox was not full of love from Amazon today (East coast for the lose?), but I did receive Disc 1 of Season 2 of Pushing Daisies from Netflix. So, no complaints.
What a deal! Hey Gewurztraminer, between your price explanation and Tim’s deal, is this just more evidence as to why Amazon is better than Target?
I think Tim just got lucky (looking forward to the podcast a bit more than usual now).
But yeah, Amazon’s nice. Not only did they give out $10 to another game purchase with a NSMB preorder, but the only reason I even decided to preorder the game in the first place is because they had a deal awhile back where if you buy 2 games (from a list) you’d get $40 toward a game purchase. In effect, I bought two Christmas gifts for family members and preordered NSMB for $6.99.
Wow, that’s super lucky, Tim! Maybe I should start reserving games from Amazon now… 😛
I remember I got Twilight Princess a week before the Wii came out cause I know some of Amazon’s original staff. Whole lotta good THAT did, though…
I did too actually, but from GameCrazy. It was utterly pointless of course.
I feel envy sitting in…
Oh that’s a nice bedsheet you got.
Placemat actually.
You should stop eating on your bed.
Be careful Tim, you might eat the game.
That’s nothing, I got a Gamecube with Shadow the hedgehog (don’t laugh, that’s BEFORE i found out the game sucked) for FREE. An error made it so that they didn’t take the money out of My dad’s credit card ! Over $200 worth of stuff for free makes any Christmas great 😉
So you got the free shipping and get it a day early, while I select 2-day shipping with $10 credit I received from purchasing Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and I have yet to receive it. WTC!!!
I just casually went to the Videogamesnewyork yesterday, asked for a copy, and they gave it to me. Same thing happened with LittleBigPlanet. They’re the greatest store ever.
*sigh* If only I had money…
Yeah, that’s cool. Getting it early and cheap from Amazon.
I got mine by placing second at the tournament they held at Nintendo World Store yesterday.
WHAT
I was in that line and they cut off who was able to be in the tournament at four people ahead of me.
This means that two people on 2P Start forums almost met in real life without meaning to!
Ugh, that line was terrible…I was soaked.
Also, cool- we could have almost met perhaps!
You’ve gotta love that Amazon. I’m crossing my fingers my copy comes in tomorrow rather than the 18th (which is their “estimated arrival date”).
It just looks so beautiful.
Well, I just registered my copy on Club Nintendo…and promptly handed it back to my mom until Christmas 🙁
Man the jealousy beams!
Aim…FIRE!!!
I will hopefully own this game maybe eventually. There’s a chance.
lucky you. i hope mine gets here today or tomorrow. 😛
Hm… red box, red Wii logo… I predict failure. Failure of some sort… Like some weird hack or wrong game… SOMETHING!!
Wait…why?
The predominantly red color is the official box color. It shows up that way on both Amazon.com’s page and Nintendo’s page. If Tim’s copy were white, he’d have a Black Doom to hand out to Nintendo for not getting it right on their own page (which would be akin to, but not nearly as bad as, Okami Wii’s infamous IGN watermark fail).
