E for Most

TimYeah, E for All definitely wasn’t ‘for all’ as the majority of media coverage I heard both before and after the show was pretty negative. I’d say it was E for Most because most of us are just gamers that love playing games. IGN and my beloved Joystiq led the charge as Debby Downers of the gaming journalist community. Joystiq went so far as to predict there wouldn’t be an E for All 2008 on Thursday, the first day of the show. On IGN’s video wrapup for E for All, Jessica Chobot stayed pretty positive, but when she interviewed Matt Casamassina and Mark Bozon, they just came off sounding a bit egotistical. We know you guys have played these games before and you guys have been to the E3’s and GDC’s and TGS’s. That’s why this show was special. We didn’t need you guys to tell us how it was, we could see for ourselves. Now I’ll admit, it was pretty crummy that Sony and Microsoft didn’t show, they were definitely missed, but as we said in the podcast, it was still a lot of fun and will hopefully be expanded even more next year (and yes, there will be a next year).

great comic, though last panel looks terrible 😛
    still good though (:

  2. Someone says:

Naw man, the last panel is priceless.

  3. ajvizz says:

Ha, What is that, me? I was their and acted the same way. Nice comic.

  4. Lava says:

Ha, I watched that IGN video… and I agree, they WERE being kind of arrogant or something. I guess they did admit that if you’re a hardcore Nintendo fan, it might be worth it… Uh… who do they think showed up to this thing!? (I know, there were others too.) I’m really starting to get annoyed at all the negativity with the Matt and Boz lately. I thought they were getting better, and then this.

Oh, and Ray, good job at portraying Bozon’s racoon like features.

I thought the news from E for All/Most was better than E3.

  6. Cozmo says:

I would have gone, but I’m on the other side of the country, and I don’t have money for plane tickets. Hopefully, though, demos will either be on the Wii shop channel or at Gamestop soon.

  7. Cozmo says:

P.S. I love the last frame, I felt the same way when I saw it on Dojo, and it was like 4 PM, so I thought I might be dreaming.

  8. mordennight says:

is this supposed to be funny? It doens’t make sense? Is that supposed to be a punchline? I’m confused…. but it is true, when they announced that sonic was in brawl I was just like that.

  9. Dash says:

Man, I actually laugh out loud on this comic (and I usually try not to, since I read then at work) beacuse it’s really like that: Matt and Bonzo are like “been there, played that”, and we, crazy Mario/Sonic fanatics, are still acting like kids in a in a candy-shop (well, more like kids in a candy-shop with free games and naked women).

Hey, and best of all: Sonic is actually in an Triple A game once again. Secret rings and Rush 1 and 2 are great, but I believe this is truly the comeback, when Sonic will finally return to its greatness, outselling even Halo (hey, Sega thinks Olimpc Games will sell 4 million. I can dream too).
